Karl Ackermann's Best Creative Music Of 2021
“The chronologically ordered tracks reveal a collection which should never have been left in the vault. MMBC Terma has an energy which seems to pour out of every piece, increasing depth and feeling.” www.allaboutjazz.com/karl-ackermanns-best-creative-music-of-2021

“ Like the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of burying treasure to be found later, MMBC Terma is a treasure of freeform jazz that’s emerged after almost fourteen years hidden away. Together, Michael Bisio, Michael Monhart and Ben Chadabe created the sound of spiritual fulfillment.” S.Victor Aaron SomethingElse

about

“There is a tradition in Tibetan Buddhism of burying treasures (either literally in the ground or in people's minds) that are then unearthed or re-discovered many years later. Maybe this is our "treasure" re-discovered for this time of pandemic!”
Michael Monhart

MMBC Terma most certainly is our buried treasure. Recorded July 9, 2007 at Bender Studios by Sten Yngvar Isachsen.

Michael and I just both moved from Seattle to New York in 2005. We have been friends and collaborators for over 30 years now. He is an incredible, absolutely unique voice on the saxophone, and a consummate artist. Once you hear his beautiful phrases I’m sure you’ll agree. Ben, a new friend in 2007, is a disciple of Ibaye Milford Graves. His passion, ears, influences and soul are self-evident.

We’d like to share our “buried treasure” with you now
